Archives and other stuff

Got the archives restored. I had to sacrifice comments and all of the entries are in one block instead of split up but the old entries are there, and that's the important thing. Now I just need to get some of my old formatting back(links, art for the links, etc). Shouldn't take too long.

Had a lot of fun playing chaperone yesterday but boy am I paying for it today. I have a throbbing foot and ankle that I just wrapped up, and up until about 5am my back was swollen up. Old injury, 5am icepack seems to have helped. Just hope I didn't break anything in the foot. Guess I'll know tomorrow. There's no swelling that I can tell, just hurts like hell to walk on.

Looking back on some of my older entries has brought a little perspective to my current life. Really the same life but slightly older and heavier. It occurs to me that I haven't done any reviews since the end of last summer. I'll have to rectify that soon.

Archives returning shortly

I'll have my archives restored to the new database soon. Only person that probably matters to is me but whatever. Good exercise in Perl. Only thing I could find to convert the MT HTML archives to the MT import format was a perl script that really depends on you using the Preview field. Kinda interesting trying to get it to read both the entries I have that on and those I don't. I should just go back and parse the entries that have a preview entry. There should only be a handful.

Guess I should try for sleep. Gotta get up at 5am to play chaperone for one of my nieces and her class. Should be fun.

Well, I finally got around to fixing the backend of this MT install and ended up totally fucking up the templates and everything. They really don't make it easy to recover when you're moving to a hosted solution like this. Pain in my ass, but at least it's done.

I just got done watching the complete series of YuYu Hakusho, original Japanese version. I can't believe how badly it was mangled for Cartoon Network, and how much dialogue was chopped from the English version. I always thought it was better than DBZ and another viewing confirms that, and at 112 episodes it's certainly lighter than the nearly 500 episodes total of Dragonball/Z/GT. 600 if you count the newly recut Dragonball series they're currently airing in Japan. Just keep hoping a remaster of the original Dragonball series comes out to DVD. That would be worth owning IMO. That show was just distilled fun, unlike Z and GT.

Now that they're started releasing the Vehicle Voltron sets I'll have something new to collect. Price seems decent enough.

Well back to rebuilding. Sigh.
